The journal

I remember standing on a Manly ferry deck with the Opera House sails catching that particular gold light, salt on my lips, a busker's guitar drifting across the water behind me. Sydney never asked me to slow down, exactly — it just made slowing down feel like the obvious choice, coffee in hand, harbor stretched out like an invitation.
