Standing before The Last Supper, I had exactly fifteen timed minutes and spent half of them just watching how the guide's flashlight beam made Christ's face shift under different angles of light. Outside afterward, the Duomo's spires looked almost modest by comparison, which felt like the wrong reaction to have.
