The journal

An old woman selling bun cha on a plastic stool waved me over insistently, and I sat cross-legged on a stool built for someone half my size. Motorbikes streamed past like a river finding its own logic. Hanoi's Old Quarter felt like a city that had never stopped negotiating with itself.
