Japan's preserved ancient capital of grace

The journal

An elderly monk at a quiet temple near Philosopher's Path corrected my bow without a word, just a small gesture of his hand. I bought moss for my own garden that trip, absurdly, carried it home wrapped in a wet cloth, and it died within the month. Kyoto teaches you what doesn't travel.
