The journal

The medina swallowed my sense of direction within ten minutes and I gave up fighting it. Mint tea appeared before I'd asked for it, poured from a height that seemed almost showy, and a shopkeeper spent twenty minutes teaching me to say thank you properly in Darija before selling me anything at all.
