Wine estates, mountain vineyards, gourmet heritage

The journal

I'd come for the wine and stayed for the mountains framing every vineyard like a deliberate backdrop. A winemaker in Stellenbosch poured me a chenin blanc still cool from the cellar and talked for twenty minutes about soil types before I'd even taken a sip, clearly more in love with the dirt than the drink.
