At dawn the salt flat mirrored the sky so completely that our jeep seemed to hang in empty space, wheels the only proof of ground beneath us. The driver stopped so we could take the obligatory perspective photos, but I mostly just stood there, disoriented in the best possible way, unsure which way was up.
