Student visa & residence permit

Student residence permit via SIRI. Financial requirement DKK 6,852/month for first year. Tuition payment proof required. Post-study: jobseeking residence valid 6 months after completion.

Tax & part-time work

CPR number is universal Danish ID — required for bank, healthcare, work. Personal income tax 38-52% (highest in OECD) but extensive social benefits. Students with under DKK 50,000 income face minimal tax.

Language requirements

Most master's programmes English-medium. IELTS 6.5+/TOEFL iBT 88+. Danish difficulty often underestimated by Indian students; A1-A2 sufficient for daily life.

Food, groceries, dietary

Indian groceries in Copenhagen (Nørrebro), Aarhus. Netto, Lidl, Føtex, Irma. Cooking essential: DKK 2,000-3,000/month.
