EU TARIC — freely available at trade.ec.europa.eu/access-to-markets — is the single authoritative source for the exact duty rate, anti-dumping measures, tariff rate quotas, and prohibitions on any product entering the EU from India. Here is how to use it.
Step 1: Go to trade.ec.europa.eu/access-to-markets and click "Search for trade information." Select "Measures" to find duties and restrictions.
Step 2: Enter your HS code. Start with your 6-digit international HS code; TARIC will suggest the 8-digit CN and 10-digit TARIC codes.
Step 3: Set your country of origin to India (IN). This filters results to show India-specific measures — EU GSP preference rates and any anti-dumping measures specifically targeting India.
Step 4: Read the duty result. You will see: (a) Third country (MFN) rate; (b) EU GSP rate (India's preferential rate); (c) Any additional ADD/CVD rates; (d) TRQ if applicable.
Step 5: Check for anti-dumping measures. If ADD appears for your HS code with India as target, your EU importer pays MFN rate PLUS the ADD — significantly affecting price competitiveness.
Use AJG's FTA Savings Estimator at tools/fta-savings-estimator.php to automate this calculation and project annual duty savings under current GSP and future India-EU FTA rates.
