Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award (MBNQA): The MBNQA is an award established by the U.S. government to recognize organizations that have achieved exceptional performance in quality and business excellence. It's based on a framework that includes criteria for performance excellence in areas like leadership, strategic planning, customer focus, information and analysis, and results. While the award is prestigious, many organizations use the MBNQA criteria as a framework for self-assessment and improvement.
  5. European Foundation for Quality Management (EFQM): EFQM is a framework for performance excellence widely used in Europe. Like the MBNQA, it provides a set of criteria for assessing an organization's performance in key areas such as leadership, strategy, people, partnerships, and processes. EFQM is often used for self-assessment and benchmarking.

Each of these quality management approaches has its strengths and can be applied in various organizational contexts. The choice of which to use depends on the organization's goals, industry, and cultural considerations. Many organizations even combine elements from several of these approaches to create a customized quality management system that best suits their needs.

  • Gathering ideas or facts (often through brainstorming)
  • Writing each item on a separate card or note
  • Grouping related items together
